Ecco il programma:
FRIDAY THE 30th, AUCKLAND UNIVERSITY and DANTE ALIGHIERI meet MONICA VIOLA and MONICA MAZZITELLI.
Monica Viola is the author of the novel “Tana per la bambina con i capelli a ombrellone” edited in Italy by Rizzoli. She will be reading, in English and Italian, extracts from her book and introducing it to the New Zealand public.
Monica Mazzitelli was born in Rome in 1964. She is a writer, a media activist, a booktrailers’ maker and a personality in the Italian literary scene.
She played a major role in the iQuindici, a group of web readers connected to the political-literature project “Wu Ming Foundation”, a writers’ collective formerly known as Luther Blissett, and authors of best sellers such as “Q”.
Monica has published widely in Italy.
She will be talking about the current state of Italian literature, the copy-left movement and her activities as a writer and media activist (introducing her short-videos such as “The Disney Trap”, with over 1.8 million viewer on You Tube, and her latest booktrailer shortfilm about a new facebook-born anthology “Auroralia”, shown for the first time.)
Both, Monica Viola and Monica Mazzitelli will be at Auckland University Friday, October 30, Arts 1 Building, Room 616, from 5 pm.
The event is organized by the Dante Alighieri School and Associate Professor Bernadette Luciano, Head of School of European Languages and Literatures.
It will be a unique occasion to get an insider’s perspective of Italian culture and today’s writing scene.
